Biography

Dr. Vento received his medical degree from the University of Havana in 2005 and later completed his residency in family and community medicine from the University of Havana in 2008. He then went on to do a residency in critical care and emergency from the University of Matanzas. Dr. Vento completed his residency in 2011 where he rotated through inpatient and outpatient wards and developed expertise in managing conditions ranging from trauma, infectious diseases, and cardiovascular critical care to critical care in obstetrics.

Before joining United Family, Dr. Vento served in critical care and emergency in the public health sector as an expert in Europe, Latin America, and South-East Asia. He received a master’s in small & medium enterprise, clinical and healthcare management and is currently undertaking a master’s in public health.

Dr. Vento has nearly 20 years of clinical experience. He has worked in emergency (adult and pediatric) and intensive care medicine, engaged in active practice, management, teaching, research, and team coordination. He is skilled at hospital management and emergencies as well as air medical evacuations.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Vento speaks and works in multiple languages including Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Dr. Vento has published in multiple medical journals including the Spanish Emergency Medicine Society Journal and has participated as a project management expert in South East Asia and Eastern Europe.

He is certified by the Medical College of Madrid, Medical College of Barcelona, and holds a GMC registration. Furthermore, he holds a license to practice in the European Economic Area. Currently he serves as a  member of the UN Panel Physicians, Australia and New Zealand Visa Group, OGUK Register, Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine, and Catalan Society of Critical Care and Emergency.
