Biography
Dr. Hu Dayi graduated from Peking University Health Science Center (formerly Beijing Medical College) in 1970 and later continued his medical education in the United States of America at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1985 to 1987.
Dr. Hu has earned the reputation as one of China’s top cardiologists and a pioneer of radio-frequency ablation technology in the treatment of tachyarrhythmia. He specializes in preventative cardiology, electrophysiology, pacemaker implantation and interventional therapy of coronary artery disease.
Over his nearly 40 year career, Dr. Hu has become one of the most renowned cardiologists and academics in China, making significant contributions in research and academia to the treatment and prevention of hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure and channelopathy. He has received such prestigious national awards in China as the National Prize for Progress in Science, and he has served on the steering committee of many international clinical trials. Among his numerous other professional affiliations and positions, he is a member of the International Academy of Sciences for Europe and Asia (IASEA), the President of the Chinese Society of Cardiology (CSC), the Dean of Clinical Research Institute at Shanghai’s Fudan University, and the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Cardiology.
