Biography
Dr. Zhou graduated from Baikou’en Medical University in 1991 and was a visiting scholar at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and UCLA Hospital in Los Angeles. After graduation, Dr. Zhou has been engaged in the clinical work of head and neck cancer, with extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of technology to treat diseases. He was Chief Physician of the Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Department at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Director of the Head and Neck Tumor Biology Laboratory, President of the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital of Beijing Medical Center (Capital Medical University), Vice President of Nanjing Tongren Hospital, as well as Director of the Scientific Research Department and Director of Otorhinolaryngology – Head, and Neck Surgery Center at Nanjing Tongren Hospital.
He specializes in surgical and comprehensive treatment of head and neck tumors, including minimally invasive surgery for thyroid tumors, hidden incisions for parotid tumors, minimally invasive endoscopic surgery for submandibular gland and sublingual gland tumors, nasal sinus tumors, oral cavity surgery, and laryngeal, nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers. He is also skilled at surgical treatment for skull base tumors and soft tissue tumors in the neck, complex surgery of the stomach and colon for cervical segmental esophageal cancer, and one-stage repair of postoperative defects with tipped tissue flap and free tissue flap. He also performs facial plastic and cosmetic surgery treatments.
He has also published over 20 academic papers.
Dr. Zhou serves as Executive Director of the China Association for the Promotion of International Exchange in Healthcare, an executive member of the Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Committee of the Chinese Physicians’ Association, Deputy Director of the Head and Neck Tumor Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and a medical expert for the Chinese national team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
