Biography

Ms. Wang received her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa (USA), where she majored in Psychology and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2011. Ms. Wang was primarily trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT).

Ms. Wang began doing clinical work in 2010. She tailors treatment methods based on each client’s needs and strengths, and collaborates with clients and their families to achieve clients’ goals and facilitate their growth holistically. She utilizes various techniques and approaches, including motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), somatic experiencing and emotion-focused couple therapy (EFCT). She provided therapy in the Prelude Behavior Center and the Life Connections in the US. After returning to China, Ms. Wang worked in hospitals and universities serving children, teenagers, and adults.

Ms. Wang believes that people have their unique strengths and have the capacity for change. She would like to help clients find self-acceptance instead of self-judgment and aid them to achieve their personal goals.

Ms. Wang has special interests in depression, anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, interpersonal relationship, self-esteem improvement, and couple therapy.
